A client had a mishap: their website was deleted, and with it went years of accumulated content and data. The situation was urgent — the longer it stayed down, the more they lost in traffic, trust, and momentum.
The Challenge
There was no backup to restore from. Rebuilding the site from scratch would have meant weeks of manual effort, and the risk of losing valuable data permanently was real.
Our Approach
We went to work with a variety of tools and techniques to pull the old data back:
- Scraped the deleted website’s recoverable content and records from every available source.
- Cross-referenced multiple recovery methods to rebuild as complete a dataset as possible.
- Organized and cleaned the recovered data so it could be reused.
- Helped the client rebuild their site on top of what we saved.
The Results
What could have taken weeks of manual rebuilding was done in a matter of days. The client got their data back, saved a ton of time, and was able to rebuild and move forward after the mishap — instead of starting from zero.
